MasterChefs in town for Gluten Free Food Expo 2016

The Gluten Free Food Expo is coming back to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, for its 11th year on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May.

The two-day event is an annual celebration of 60 of Australia’s best gluten-free food producers, MasterChef cooking demonstrations, and keynote presentations from medical professionals who specialize in the management of coeliac disease.

With 1 in 70 Australians living with coeliac disease, and thousands more who are gluten intolerant or choosing a gluten free lifestyle, Coeliac Queensland Executive Officer Glen Harriss is focused on a weekend where expo goers can sample and purchase the latest gluten free foods on the market as well as enjoy an informative and fun weekend.

“We really upped the ante with our stallholders last year, and got a great result, so we are working hard to make 2016 our biggest year ever. Also, by moving to a Saturday and Sunday, we hope this gives Gluten Free Foodies and families more time to enjoy the expo.”

A key highlight for the Expo will be the live cooking demonstrations by MasterChef contestants – Courtney Roulston and Michael Weldon appearing on the Coles stage.

Presentations will also take place on the information stage from leading specialists including Dr Jason Tye-Din (Gastroenterologist), Dr Richard Muir (Paediatric Gastroenterologist), Dr Sue Shepherd (Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian), and Dr James Daveson (Gastroenterologist).
