What potatoes should I use for boiling ?

What variety of potato are the best for holding together when they are boiled ? I don’t want them breaking apart or turning mushy.

Potatoes have three different categories that species of potatoes can fall into: “Waxy“, “Floury” and “All Rounders“.

Waxy potatoes have higher moisture content and less starch, which helps them hold their shape better and are therefore more suited to boiling or using in a slow-cooker. Below are our recommended potato varieties to use for boiled potatoes.
