This maple butter sauce is a delicious topping on a Figgy Duff bread pudding.
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 1½ tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon spiced rum
- ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1½ tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- In a small saucepan, bring maple syrup and butter to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat, and stir in rum and salt. Let cool to room temperature.
- Whisk in cream.
