What's the best way to store spices?

Once you’ve opened the packet you need to keep them in an airtight container.  Glass jars (re-cycle old chutney, mustard jars etc.) are ideal as long as they are clean and dry.

  • Do NOT keep your spices in the light – a cupboard or drawer is fine.
  • Store your spices away from all sources of heat – cooker, sunlight, radiator etc.
