Tandoori Mix

Homemade Tandoori Mix
A blend of hot and fragrant spices including cardamom, chillies, turmeric, saffron, and garam masala. If commercial brands are not available, substitute the following mixture:
Serves: 1
Option 1 - Traditional
  • 3 tablespoons ground ginger
  • 3 tablespoons coriander
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1½ teaspoons turmeric
  • 1½ teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1½ teaspoons ground cloves
  • 1½ teaspoons cinnamon
Option 2 - quick and easy
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chilli powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ⅛ teaspoon powdered saffron
  1. Combine ingredients thoroughly and store in an airtight jar
A ½ teaspoon of garlic powder can be added, but this is not necessary if fresh garlic is used in the recipe
